Crowberry
Empetrum Nigrum, also known as Black Crowberries, can be found in higher altitudes, stretching to the northern tip of Canada.
Crowberry's health benefits include nearly twice the amount of antioxidant content as blueberries on an ounce by ounce basis. This potency primarily comes from unique antioxidants known as anthocyanins (460mg per 100g), caffeic, gallic, and protocatechuic acids. Crowberries also contain vitamin C, well-known for supporting Immune health.
As a whole, raw crowberries were primarily used as a folk remedy to support the brain and nervous system structure. In addition, crowberries are ideal for cleansing support of the kidneys, eyes, skin, and digestive systems.
